Community Views on Fort Worth ISD Intervention: March 2026 Polling Report
Fort Worth Independent School District (ISD) serves tens of thousands of students across our community. With the state’s decision to intervene and install a Board of Managers, we believed it was important to understand where our community stands. This poll, which surveyed over 700 Tarrant County residents, including oversamples of the City of Fort Worth and Fort Worth ISD parents, offers insights into how our community views the state’s intervention in Fort Worth ISD, including what residents hope it will accomplish and what they expect from the Board of Managers going forward.
Bright Spot Awards 2025
This report examines how schools across Fort Worth perform compared to peers serving similar student populations. Using a statewide Similar Schools Model, we estimate expected proficiency rates based on key demographics—such as economic disadvantage, emergent bilingual status, and special education enrollment—and compare them to actual results.
The findings reveal that even among schools with nearly identical demographics, academic outcomes can vary dramatically. Highlighted in this report are Fort Worth’s “bright spot” campuses—schools that outperform expectations and demonstrate that all students, regardless of background, can achieve at high levels.
High School and Beyond: Tracking the Life Outcomes of Fort Worth Students
This report presents data collected annually by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. It chronicles the paths of Fort Worth students for 11 years, beginning in 8th grade. Specifically, it tracks 8th graders from public middle schools in the City of Fort Worth through high school and six years after high school graduation. Six years after high school, only 14% had earned a bachelor’s degree, and 5% had earned an associate’s degree. This means fewer than one in five students who attended Fort Worth middle schools secured a degree from a Texas institution within six years after their graduation from high school.
