His dedication was recognized statewide in 2022 when he received the Texas State Board of Education\u2019s Heroes for Children Award and in 2026 when he received TSPRA's Partner in Public Education Award.<\/p>\n<p>As Director of Governance, Ken will work to promote student-centered school board leadership that keeps school districts focused on improving student opportunities and outcomes. He will accomplish this by providing training and support to Trustees, aspiring Trustees, and community members that want to advocate for equitable student outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Ken studied Philosophy and English at Baylor University. In 2019, she co-founded CONNECT, a social impact consulting program at the University of Texas at Austin that partners graduate students with community organizations to provide data and evaluation services. Under her leadership, the program expanded its reach to support hundreds of organizations across Texas and inspired similar initiatives at universities nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Originally from Wisconsin, Alyssa earned bachelor\u2019s degrees in Botany and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin\u2013Madison.
